His real and rare unique strength in counselling is extensive experience in hospital medicine, dealing with major mental health issues associated with trauma, cancer, bereavement/death, living with long-term illness and severe addiction behaviours. He has guided patients and their families through major life events in intensive hospital environments through to follow-up in community to ensure good mental health in recovery. This allows him to appreciate the depth of emotion and appreciation of life mental health challenges, and provide service with an additional level of commitment to your health and those around you.
He also participates in support organisation such as Mentoring Men, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Kairos Prison Ministry. He has partnered with global charities in visited orphanages in Haiti, Thailand, Indonesia. He strongly support Hope Village orphanage and school in Sumatra.
He has is own significant "lived experience" with his own share of mental health challenges which he has come through successfully and he may tell you about them someday(!), and so…he will never judge.
In his spare time, he enjoys creating art (he hopes to sell), reading, tai-chi and walks on Wollongong beach with pet ferret, Whimsy.
